Bargello Pine Trees

Taking a break from my current projects, I decided to work on this ornament as we enter the holiday season. As part of the ANG CyberPointer’s chapter, some members are working on ornaments and I liked this one best (since last year I’ve been wanting to get to it; http://www.caron-net.com/magfiles/magdecharts/magdech.html). Plus, I am in a Bargello phase.

When I went into my stash, I found the packet of ThreadworX which is a beautifully selected bag of threads (for Hanukkah or winter) from Thread Candy Studio. Great combo of blues, purple, & whites. I picked up the packet at Annie & Company in NYC earlier this year (subject of earlier blog).

I have found out that Bargello requires a thicker thread or multiple strands. So, I’m not sure there is enough in this bag. Well, I’ll figure it out as I go!

Since blue is my favorite color–those threads are simply georgeous. Can’t wait to see your project as it stitched. Been working on a couple of ornaments myself for my EGA chapter. We have an annual Ornament Exchange ( like a grab bag) along with a pot luck lunch. We are a small group so this works just fine. We meet in one of the members homes so it really is nice, personal and cozy Fortunately we take turns and it works just fine.

I think I owe you a reply from a previous message–but my life is pretty complicated with my husbands’ surgery and now HOPEFULLY recovery.

Will get back to you later–Have a great December and 2014 year. Carol in tenn

The ornament exchange is such a nice idea! We talked about doing that but decided folks wouldn’t all want to pay $40 (or more) for finishing an ornament. We keep a needlepoint item limited to around $15. How do you keep costs down? Keeping fingers crossed (when not stitching) for you & your husband! Melita
